Today, Grand Master (WGM) Yerisbel Miranda won the women’s chess title by defeating International Master Ineymig Hernández in the last round in this central Cuban city.
The WGM from the western province of Pinar del Rio led their game by an English opening and reedited her trophy conquered in 2017, in addition to four bronze medals.
The second place in the competition went to the Grand Master of the eastern province of Santiago de Cuba, Oleyni Linares, who won in the final round against the local Patricia Hernandez at the Guillermo Garcia in memoriam chess palace in this city.
The local International Master Roxángel Obregón, won the bronze medal and made her best historical performance in these competitions despite losing today to Grand Master Yaniela Forgas, in a King’s Indian attack.
