Venezuelan president greets legislators who participate in the World Anti-Fascist Parliamentary Forum

The president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, welcomed this Monday the more than 300 legislators from 70 countries who are participating in the World Anti-Fascist Parliamentary Forum, scheduled for November 4th and 5th in the city of Caracas.

The main purpose of the forum is to delve into the causes of the resurgence of fascism in the 21st century.  In addition, the resistance strategies that people have implemented against domination will be analyzed, as well as the new forms of aggression, which are manifested through colonialism and neocolonialism.

According to Venezolana de Televisión, topics related to “parliamentary democracy of peace, the relationship between imperialism, fascism and Zionism, blockades and coercive measures imposed on various countries, defense of human rights, legislation against fascism, neofascism and similar expressions, social networks, new technologies and cognitive warfare against people, among others” are being discussed.

During the event, several institutions such as the National Assembly, Marca País, and the Hugo Chávez Institute will hold exhibitions, which seek to promote the exchange of knowledge and highlight the cultural wealth of the region.

At the meeting, participants will share experiences and approaches on how to confront the threats of fascism and colonialism in the current context.  The meeting takes place in a global context where the resurgence of extremist ideologies has generated concern in various nations and the need for a unified and supportive response is more urgent than ever.

With the participation of legislators from different parts of the world, the forum seeks to strengthen international cooperation in the fight against fascism. The hope is that, through this meeting, alliances can be established that promote peace and social justice.

Thus, Caracas becomes the center of an important global dialogue, where it is hoped that the decisions taken at this forum will have a significant impact in the fight against the forces that threaten democracy and human rights in the world.
