Trump-Vance at the Republican National Convention

Former president and Republican candidate for the US elections, Donald Trump, along with his running mate, Senator JD Vance, attended the second day of the party’s national convention in Milwaukee.

From their box, as yesterday, they saw several speakers parade on stage, among them the former ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley, who went from criticizing Trump during his fight for the Republican nomination to almost worshipping in her speech at the event.

Also on the podium was Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, another former rival, as was Senator Marco Rubio in 2016, who later became an ally and was on the shortlist for the vice-presidential ticket.

Also speaking were governors, congressmen who will defend their seats in November, and the co-chair of the Republican National Committee, Lara Trump, daughter-in-law of the former president, who delivered an outpouring of praise and sentiment from Fiserv Stadium, where the big Republican convention is held.

The issue of immigration and crime was the protagonist of this second day.

The Democrats will hold their national convention in Chicago, Illinois from August 19-22. Biden insists that he will continue in the race, despite voices within his own party asking him to give way to another figure and abandon his re-election bid if they want to beat Trump in November
