Regional event Accessible America 2023 begins in Cuba

The Accessible America Regional Event 2023, an event aimed at socializing the management of Information and Communications Technologies (ICT), begins today in the Cuban spa city of Varadero.

Under the auspices of the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) and the Cuban Ministry of Communications, Accessible America will promote digital inclusion and the empowerment of all people regardless of age, gender, ability or geographic location.

According to the official program of Accessible America, the ITU is celebrating this year the 10th anniversary of Accessible America, the entity’s main regional platform focused on the issue of ICT accessibility.

The meeting is focused on strengthening knowledge in ITU member countries regarding digital inclusion policies and strategies, and the exchange of best practices related to guaranteeing accessibility to telecommunications products and services.

Providing the opportunity to share experiences and knowledge about accessibility projects and initiatives regarding current technologies in the region of the Americas becomes a vital action of the conclave.

The Accessible America Regional Event 2023, which will run from today until November 10, will have among its spaces the interpretation of local sign language and will provide a training opportunity in ICT accessibility for the continent to continue its development in this area.
