The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel received on Friday at the Palace of the Revolution the head of the Special Advisor to the president of Brazil, Celso Amorím, who is visiting the island to strengthen bilateral relations.
The head of state reported in his Ex account that at the meeting they ratified the willingness to move forward in priority sectors and with opportunities for the development of bilateral ties for the benefit of both peoples.
Also in recent days, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez received the politician from the South American giant, and they reaffirmed the will to strengthen bilateral relations and take advantage of the existing potentialities.
According to Brazilian media, Amorim traveled to Cuba at the express request of President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, interested in strengthening ties between both nations.
Cuba and Brazil ratified last May the will to expand and strengthen inter-parliamentary ties during the visit to Havana of a delegation of legislators from the South American country.
Then, both parties showed their willingness to contribute to the advancement of economic-commercial relations in areas of mutual interest such as biotechnology, vaccine and food production, tourism and energy.
