The 14th International Construction Fair (Fecons 2024), was inaugurated this Tuesday at the Pabexpo fairgrounds in Havana, with the presence of the Commander Ramiro Valdés Menéndez, vice prime minister of Cuba.
Ángel Vilaragut Montes de Oca, First Deputy Minister of Construction, explained that the event has Russia as the guest of honor and welcomes approximately 129 companies from 13 nations.
Vilaragut recognized that the fair is aimed at raising the levels of productivity and competitiveness in construction, consolidating an effective articulation between the various forms of production, diversifying the product portfolio, exchanging experiences, and exposing new technologies and environment friendly services.
In regard with Russia’s participation, he stated that the Caribbean nation’s construction sector has a large number of projects to be developed that require foreign investment.
Antón Glushkov, president of the National Association of Builders of Russia, highlighted that both nations have a long history of collaboration in the area, strengthened in recent times.
The meeting was chaired by René Mesa Villafaña, head of the Construction of Cuba, and Víctor Koronelli, Russian ambassador to the largest of the Antilles.
As part of the event, the 14th International Scientific-Technical Conference on Construction will open on Wednesday at the Havana Convention Palace.
