Moscow and Havana discuss Russia-Africa summit preparations

The Russian Vice Foreign Minister for Africa and the Middle East, Mikhail Bogdanov, discussed this Wednesday in Moscow, together with Cuban ambassador Julio Garmendía, the preparations for the second Russia-Africa summit, scheduled for next July in Saint Petersburg.

The Foreign Ministry of the Eurasian nation reported that during the meeting there was a confidential exchange of views on the current agenda in the Middle East, with special attention to the settlement in Western Sahara based on the corresponding resolutions of the Security Council of the Organization of United Nations (UN).

He added that the main issues to be addressed at the second Russia-Africa summit, by decision of President Vladimir Putin, were also mentioned. The foreign agency specified that the meeting was held at the initiative of the Cuban side.
