Ministry of Tourism clarifies questions about electronic visas for Canadian travelers on direct flights to Cuba

The Cuban Ministry of Tourism has issued a clarification for Canadians planning to travel to Cuba on direct flights.  According to information disseminated through its official Facebook profile, passengers traveling directly from Canada to the island do not need to worry about a visa, as it is included in the cost of the ticket.

Travelers simply need to complete a form on the official website:
www.dviajeros.mitrans.gob.cu at least one week before their arrival.  Once completed, they will receive a QR code that they must present upon boarding.  This process is completely free; no credit card information or any type of payment will be required.

It is important to note that the aforementioned website is the official one.  Travelers have been warned about the existence of non-governmental websites with URL variations, which are irrelevant and may cause confusion.

Those traveling to Cuba via a third country must obtain an electronic visa in advance at www.evisacuba.cu and obtain a 10-character code, which they must enter when completing the form at www.dviajeros.mitrans.gob.cu.
