The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and resident of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel received Thursday Luo Zhaohui, president of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), and the delegation accompanying him.
The visitors conveyed a cordial greeting from the general secretary of the Communist Party of China, Xi Jiping, to the Cuban president and the leader of the Revolution, Army General Raúl Castro Ruz.
For his part, Díaz-Canel described the visit as highly significant because “it strengthens the very positive assessment we have, both politically and practically, of the consensus we have reached with dear President Xi Jinping in the meetings we have had in recent years”.
Highlighting the systematic gestures of support from the People’s Republic of China (PRC) towards Cuba, the dignitary conveyed his gratitude to the Chinese Party, government and people, also for their struggle against the blockade imposed by the U.S. for more than 60 years.

The head of state ratified the invitation made to his counterpart to visit the Caribbean nation, and asked to convey to the Chinese leader “the most affectionate greetings from Cuba”.
Luo Zhaohui, for his part, stressed that both countries are close companions, good friends and also important partners. “We form a community of socialist future,” he added.
He explained the intense agenda he has had in Cuba since his arrival, during which, he said, he has “maintained very close communication with the different Ministries, in order to continue boosting and accelerating the special friendly relations between the two nations, as well as deepening them even more.
The Chinese delegation is composed of Ambassador Ma Hui, comrade Huang Yan, member of the Party Leading Group, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs; CIDCA executives Bai Bin and Meng Ran, and Zhu Xingyu, deputy department director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
