The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, participated virtually on Wednesday in the 10th Extraordinary Summit of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America – Peoples’ Trade Agreement (ALBA-TCP).

Last June 26th, different divisions of the Bolivian Army mobilized in the Plaza Murillo in La Paz, following statements made by Major General Juan José Zúñiga, General Commander of the Bolivian Army, in which he reaffirmed his decision to prevent Evo Morales from running for the presidency again, which caused his immediate removal from office.
The international community immediately condemned the coup attempt, and the leaders of several Latin American nations and organizations declared their support for the constitutional government of Bolivia.
The coup attempt was defeated with the installation of new military commanders.
The military withdrew immediately after the new commanders were installed, consolidating the president’s control and leadership.
