Díaz-Canel described as honest the exchange with Santa Clara residents

The first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and president of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel described as honest the meeting he held Thursday with residents of the Sandino-Capiro popular council in the central city of Santa Clara.

At the Palacio de la Danza, Díaz-Canel and seven other candidates to the Parliament for the capital of Villa Clara province will listen to their voter’s concerns.

This is the third day of exchanges before the general elections next March 26. A representation of the workers of Culture in Santa Clara also attended.

The meeting discussed unity as a guarantor of continuity, accountability of deputies and leaders at all levels, the demands of cadres to their subordinates, and difficulties in some services in the locality.

Voters commented on inflation, problems in the commercialization of agricultural products, hydraulic services in Capiro, as well as the state of roads.

Diaz Canel said he feels proud of the candidacy, and thanked the trust, sincerity, and presence of the people of the Sandino-Capiro popular council.
