The delegates of the municipal parliaments in Cuba will begin today to prepare for the next accountability process, scheduled for next September 20.
This process offers an opportunity for community representatives to be accountable to their constituents for the management carried out during their mandate. Likewise, it will allow the more than 14 thousand delegates of People’s Power to receive feedback from the opinions of the population through debates that promote solutions.
During a recent meeting with presidents of Municipal Assemblies, Esteban Lazo, president of the National Assembly of People’s Power- that is, the Cuban parliament-, pointed out that the constant exchange of opinions between delegates and voters must be the premise of accountability.
This will be the first process of the mandate that began in December 2022, therefore the first for a high percentage of renewed delegates (around 50 percent) renewed in that year.
