Cuba will be the scene of countless tourist, cultural, scientific and sporting events this year, registered in its catalog of events that attracts travel professionals around the world.
The presentation of the catalog was held in Havana by Grupo Caudal, S.A., together with the Company Asistur S.A. It included the cultural, heritage and natural values of Cuba, as well as Premium products such as rum and tobacco. The speakers at the presentation also highlighted Cuba’s music and the life of its people.
The 2024 Events Calendar immediately became a document of official interest for tour operators, travel agents, hoteliers and airline managers.
The Director of Events of the Ministry of Tourism, Yanet de Armas, reported that as part of the destination’s dissemination strategy, 44 more events were scheduled this year than in 2023 -the most recurrent related to sports, culture, education, health, science and technology, tourism and social sciences.
Among the outstanding events is the International Tourism Fair (FITCuba 2024) scheduled for May 2 to 5 in Jardines del Rey, the main recreation-related exchange for this island and Latin America and Caribbean.
In 2023, Cuba hosted the 39th congress of the Federation of Congress Organizing Entities of Latin America, an opportunity to show all the potential of the destination for business trips, meetings and incentive presences, known in the tourism world as MICE.
The Greater Antilles has real estate and a large hotel plant throughout the country designed for this modality, as well as human resources and a long tradition in the organization of international meetings and congresses.
