The Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba Elio Rodríguez arrived in Rome this Tuesday for a working visit, during which he will participate in the 11th Italy-Latin America and the Caribbean Conference.
According to a note released by the Cuban embassy in Italy, during his stay, which will last until October 15, the vice chancellor will carry out an extensive work agenda that includes a meeting with the undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Giorgio Silli.
Rodríguez will also meet with Antonella Cavallari, general secretary of the Italian-Latin American Organization (IILA), and will maintain contacts with members of the Italy-Cuba Bilateral Friendship Section of the Italian Group of the Interparliamentary Union.
The 11th Italy-Latin America and the Caribbean Conference, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (Maeci) with the collaboration of the IILA, will be held on October 12 and 13 in Rome.
This biennial intergovernmental political event is attended by senior officials from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the participating countries, and is currently one of the main instruments of Italy’s foreign policy to strengthen its relations with Latin American and Caribbean nations.
