The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel, congratulated the University of Physical Culture and Sport, which on Monday celebrates its half-century anniversary.
In his profile on the social network X, the dignitary wrote: “Today, October 9, is the 50th anniversary of the University of Sports. Its performance goes from the classrooms to the courts and from these to the communities, to contribute to a healthier society. Congratulations to its workers, professors, students and founders”.
The university, which has graduated 85 percent of Cuba’s Olympic champions today, is developing a plan that includes recreational sports festivals, meetings with founders and graduations of master’s and doctoral degrees, among other activities.
