The Cuban ambassador to Canada, Rodrigo Malmierca, presented his credentials to the Governor General of Canada, Mary Simon, this Tuesday in Ottawa.
According to an official note, the ceremony took place at the official residence of the Canadian Head of State, where ambassadors from other nations were also received.
During the meeting, Simon spoke with Malmierca, wished him success in his mission, and ratified the desire to strengthen bilateral relations.
On March 12, the Cuban ambassador presented the style copies to the Director of Protocol of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of that northern nation, Sébastien Carrière.
The parties also advocated for strengthening bilateral ties, cooperation and trade, which date back almost 8 decades. Likewise, they reaffirmed the importance of tourism, since Canada is the main source of visitors to the island.
