Cuba will welcome for the first time a Cambodian delegation to the 2025 Cuba Health International Convention, to be held from April 21 to 25 at the Pabexpo fairgrounds, in Havana.
The delegation is headed by Ly Sovann, the director of the Communicable Disease Control Department at the Ministry of Health, who is accompanied by Huy Meng Hut, the deputy director of the International Relations Department.
During their stay, the Cambodian representatives will also hold official discussions with their Cuban counterparts on matters of mutual concern.
These discussions, which will focus on health-related topics, will help to expand and strengthen the bilateral cooperation between the two countries, according to Milena Zaldivar, the Cuban ambassador to Cambodia.
The diplomat emphasized that the support provided by the Cambodian delegation to Cuba Health 2025 is doubly important, as it is not only a unique event, but also the first official visit to Havana since the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations was celebrated on April 15.
She stated that Cuba and Cambodia came to this celebration with a commitment to expanding and enhancing bilateral, mutually advantageous collaboration in various fields, with the goal of fostering the growth and advancement of both nations.
In this context, important agreements had already been signed this year, demonstrating a commitment to further strengthening the bonds of friendship and cooperation.
