Cuba will continue developing ties with the EU

Cuba ratified this Tuesday the will to continue developing the best relations with the European Union (EU), on the occasion of celebrating Europe Day.

The Cuban Foreign Ministry expressed on Twitter that the Caribbean island wishes to continue ties with the community bloc, based on the principles and objectives stipulated in the Political Dialogue and Cooperation Agreement (ADPC).

Cuba and the EU relaunched their relations in 2016 with the signing of the ADPC that put an end to 20 years of the so-called common position, which conditioned the bloc’s relations to demands considered unacceptable by the island.

This agreement made it possible to intensify cooperation and generated opportunities for exchange on issues of mutual interest such as human rights, unilateral coercive measures and sustainable development.
