Cuba mourns victims of landslide in China

Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez lamented today the loss of human lives due to a landslide in the Chinese southwestern province of Sichuan.

On his Twitter account, the Cuban foreign minister expressed his deepest condolences to the government, the people of the People’s Republic of China and the relatives and close friends of the victims of the event that occurred this Sunday night.

According to Chinese state television CCTV, the side of a mountain collapsed on a mining camp near Leshan, Sichuan province, some 240 kilometers from the provincial capital Chengdu, killing at least 19 people.

The mountainside collapsed onto the production and living facilities of a local mining company, where specialized search and rescue teams were dispatched.
