Cuba calls for a halt to the supply of weapons to Israel

The Cuban Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodríguez, has called for a halt of the delivery of arms to Israel, in the face of the atrocities committed by the Zionist state against Palestine.

In his profile on the platform X, Rodríguez stated that those who advocate for a plan to “purge” Gaza should cease providing arms to Israel and cease committing genocide. Instead, they should support a just and lasting peace that recognizes an independent Palestinian state within the borders of 1967.

On the occasion of the International Day of Remembrance for the Victims of the Holocaust, he reiterated Cuba’s dedication to combatting all forms of discrimination, including anti-Semitism, racism, xenophobia, and religious intolerance.

The head of Cuban diplomacy denounced the reversal by the current U.S. administration, a key ally of Israel and the primary provider of arms and other military assistance to the Israeli government, of the Biden administration’s decision to halt the delivery of 2,000-pound bombs this Sunday, despite the global outcry for an end to the slaughter and the need for humanitarian access in Gaza.

The Israeli military operation against Palestine, which began on October 7, 2023, has claimed the lives of over 47,000 people, with the majority being women and children, while thousands more have been injured.

This genocide war has caused a catastrophic humanitarian situation, including the displacement of more than 90% of the population from their homes.
