Cuba’s Ariel Martinez hit his sixth home run in the Japan Professional Baseball League 2023.
The catcher, starter and outfielder towed two runs in four visits to the plate to contribute to the 5×1 victory of the Nippon Ham Wrestlers over the SoftBank Falcons, in a game staged at Es Con Field in Hokkaido.
Martinez struck out for the second time in three games, kept his average at .245 and increased his total to 12 runs batted in.
So far this season, the Cuban international – an attendee of the V World Baseball Classic 2023 – has participated in 36 games with 106 at-bats and 26 hits, including four RBIs and six home runs. The slugger accumulates 12 runs batted in, nine runs scored, 31 strikeouts and 11 tickets.
