The American Quincy Hall set a record of 43.40 minutes in the lap around the oval of the Stade de France and won the gold medal of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
With a legendary sprint, Hall, bronze medalist at the last world championships, overtook his rivals a few meters from the finish line to sign the best time of his life and the fourth in history.
His compatriot Mattew Hudson-Smith took silver with a time of 43.44 and bronze went to Zambia’s Muzala Samukonga.
