The Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America – People’s Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP) communicated this Thursday through an official text its rejection of the unilateralism imposed by the United States with respect to the genocide perpetrated by Israel against the Gaza Strip.
All ALBA-TCP nations “express their strongest condemnation of the unilateralism imposed by the United States in the United Nations Security Council, by vetoing for the fourth time, on November 20, 2024, a draft resolution, supported by all other members of that body, which demands a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and unrestricted access to humanitarian aid for the Palestinian population in that illegally occupied territory,” the text reads.
The statement emphasizes the fact that this action “reveals…the sustained complicity of the Government of Washington with Israel, the Occupying Power, which allows it to perpetrate its war crimes with total impunity.”
It also emphasizes that “the continuation of the genocide and the ongoing humanitarian catastrophe” are other crimes that Israel commits under Washington’s orders.
Furthermore, it points out “the imminent famine to which the brother Palestinian people are exposed if the massacre against the innocent population in Gaza is not stopped.”
“ALBA-TCP rejects the inaction of the Security Council that prevents stopping the aggressions and the flagrant violations of the Charter of the United Nations, International Law and International Humanitarian Law that are taking place in Gaza and other illegally occupied Palestinian territories,” the text adds.
The statement reiterates the “call to the international community to take decisive action, without further delay, to definitively stop the bloody attacks and genocide against Palestine and all the peoples affected by the escalation of war.”
