Venezuela will defend peace and tranquility this January 10th

At a press conference in Caracas, the Sectorial Vice President of Politics, Citizen Security, and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, provided a summary of the country’s situation just days before the inauguration of the elected president Nicolás Maduro.  The head of that portfolio emphasized that anyone who attempts to disturb the peace will consequently be prosecuted.

Among the points discussed, he noted that discredited figures, former presidents of some countries, and mostly with records of corruption and links to drug trafficking, said they will go to Venezuela this January 10th.  Cabello stated that they are being awaited as the invaders they are, since they have not been invited, and as invaders they will be treated.

Cabello emphasized that if they go, they will be arrested and prosecuted because Venezuela deserves respect, and none of those criminals have the authority to decide on the internal affairs of the Bolivarian nation.

In that case, he singled out the opposition figure Edmundo González Urrutia, funded by the right and representing the most extremist sector of the country, who will be arrested as soon as he arrives in the country if he dares to attempt to commit crimes with impunity.

“The people of Venezuela are waiting for González Urrutia because he is a mercenary who does not care about this country, who, along with Leopoldo Castillo, led the death squads in El Salvador against social and religious leaders, and who has been a CIA agent his entire life,” stated the vice president, who affirmed that for these reasons, the far-right does not care about the elections.

He once again demonstrated that the most radical right did not have electoral plans, “their plans were the generation of violence,” he recalled regarding the terrorist acts faced during 2024. And he emphasized the reports and evidence shown on television regarding the capture of Venezuelan and foreign mercenaries, with the active participation of security agencies such as the CIA, the DEA, and the Spanish Intelligence Center, which trained these groups to commit terrorist acts against the Venezuelan people.

At the beginning of his speech, he highlighted that 2024 was a year marked by many advances within the Ministry of Justice and Peace, which go hand in hand with other milestones at the national level in economic, political, and social aspects.

In that sense, he recalled that in the 1980s, that was not the national reality, where a young person was murdered for a pair of shoes, whereas today, for every 100,000 inhabitants, only four homicides are reported, a remarkable rate in the region and worldwide.

This was achieved through coordinated policy and well-executed work, along with fire prevention and the promotion of safety in the country. However, despite having overcome the threats from the opposition, he specified that Venezuela must remain alert.

By the way, Cabello referred to the “concerns” of the right regarding the military deployment, and assured that they can talk about deployment but not about abuses, as the job of the security forces is to maintain the peace and tranquility that Venezuela wants.

“If the right wing were to govern the country, the dead would be in the streets,” asserted the Venezuelan minister, as their way of governing is based on violence and mercenarism. In total, 125 of those mercenaries used by the far-right are detained in Venezuela, among them Colombians, Ukrainians, Israelis, and people from ten countries in total.

“On January 10th, President Nicolás Maduro will take office, and the opposition will not prevent it, just as they did not prevent the National Assembly from being installed yesterday,” stated Cabello, who referred to the number of people who enjoyed the beaches on Sunday, in total peace and tranquility.
