The Foreign Ministry of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela rejected this Sunday the accusations of “the ghostly” Office for Venezuelan Affairs of the United States Government, based in Colombia.
“The non-existent, laughable and ghostly Office for Venezuelan Affairs of the United States, based in Bogotá, continues its bizarre actions against Venezuela,” denounced the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Bolivarian nation, Yván Gil, in response to the accusations of said Office about alleged “harassment against people seeking asylum in the Argentinian Embassy in Caracas,” who are under Brazilian protection.
The foreign minister denounced the hypocrisy and lies of the officials of the northern government, who choose to defame Venezuela, while they are the ones who have an immoral government with a shameful history, which lists the direct and public support for the genocide in Gaza, the bombings in Lebanon and Syria and the support for the Ukrainian Nazis.
In a note shared on his Telegram account, Gil highlighted the double standard of such defamations, contrary to “Venezuela’s adherence to international law and the norms of diplomacy contemplated in the Vienna Convention and the Charter of the United Nations.”
The head of Venezuelan diplomacy also pointed out the support of the current US Administration for the assault on the Mexican Embassy in Ecuador in April, which was a flagrant violation of the Magna Carta of Ecuador and international treaties on the inviolability of diplomatic headquarters.
He demanded that they once and for all end their lies that try to cause so much harm to the Venezuelan people, and denounced the seizure of Bolivarian assets and diplomatic headquarters in US territory.
“It is time for the U.S., instead of supporting so much vagrancy, to dedicate itself to fulfilling its obligations to a serious State,” concluded the Foreign Minister.
It is not the first time that the Biden Administration has spread lies about the alleged harassment of the “asylees” at the Argentine Embassy in Caracas, trying to convince public opinion that they are activists for democracy.
However, Venezuelan authorities have emphatically denounced that they are linked to terrorist activities and that destabilizing actions against the Bolivarian State were planned from said headquarters.
Months ago, the Venezuelan extremist right headed by María Corina Machado planned to attack the aforementioned diplomatic headquarters with a grenade, to blame the government of President Nicolás Maduro for such violent act. Alerted about this purpose, Venezuelan security agencies reinforced the security of the embassy and prevented this false flag attack.
