Cuba and Senegal hold Inter-Chancellery Political Consultations

The director of Sub-Saharan Africa of the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Minrex), Luis Alberto Amorós, and the director of Europe, America and Oceania of the Senegalese Foreign Ministry, Ousmane Diop, chaired Wednesday the Meeting of Inter-Chancellery Political Consultations, held virtually.

During the meeting, both parties noted the positive state of bilateral relations and expressed their willingness to strengthen them in areas of common interest.

To this end, they discussed actions to boost economic and commercial exchange, cooperation, and political dialogue.

The delegations discussed issues on the multilateral agenda, including Cuba’s assumption of the pro tempore presidency of the Group of 77 plus China.

Also participating on the Senegalese side were Abdouhramane Diouf, director of the Americas at the Foreign Ministry, and Abdoulaye Bathily, acting director of International Organizations and Globalization.

The Cuban delegation was made up of the Cuban ambassador to Senegal, Maydolis Sosa Hilton, and MINREX officials.
