Nicolás Maduro says BRICS is the epicenter of the new geopolitics

“The BRICS have already become the epicenter of the new multipolar world.  The BRICS are the epicenter of the world, of the new geopolitics, of diplomacy, of peace and, above all, they are the hope of the countries of the Global South that aspire to the development that we have been pursuing for 200 years», said the president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, upon arriving in the evening (local time) to the Russian city of Kazan, to participate in the BRICS Summit.

In making statements to the media, the head of State said that his delegation is carrying the flag of equality and freedom to Russia, in order to have the possibility of accessing another economy.

“An economy that is not managed based on sanctions, blackmail, economicism, but an economy that is managed based on cooperation, truly free trade, shared investment, new technology,” he stressed.

The president also assured that Venezuela is part of this new world of the BRICS, so his presence at the Summit has the purpose of «sharing our dreams, our hopes for a world without colonialism, without hegemony, without imperialism; a world where emerging superpowers can share with the countries that we aspire to, from the Global South, to independence, development and prosperity.»

The head of state also stated that the greatest expectation of the Venezuelan delegation in Kazan “is to contribute, from Bolivarian Venezuela, to the construction of the new world, from South America, from our America.”

In this sense, Maduro recalled that there is another America, one of peace and of men and women who aspire to freedom and equality.

“There is a non-colonialist America that is commemorating 200 years of the historic feat of Junín, Ayacucho, it is Our America and from Our America, we tell the rest of the world that we are prepared to build a new world.”

Referring to the opportunities for Venezuela’s consolidation as an oil power, the dignitary recalled that the Bolivarian Government always thought of the possibility of joining together in an economic development and cooperation project with the countries that have the largest crude oil reserves in the world, such as Russia, Saudi Arabia and Iran.

«In this space, which is the epicenter of the new world, we are already the four great oil countries of the world and Venezuela, modestly, comes to offer its part from an economic project of autonomy, of endogenous development, from an economic project that requires a high level of investment,» he said.

On the subject, he highlighted that the Executive Vice President and Minister of Oil, Delcy Rodríguez, previously came to Kazan to offer a set of investment options to the BRICS Plus countries, and predicted that there is good news in that direction.

Likewise, he commented that he plans to meet with President Vladimir Putin and other leaders, as part of his work agenda in Kazan.
