Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro says that the South American nation does not need licenses to advance in development and take the path of its economic well-being.
“Venezuela does not need a license to grow, to expand, to develop and to take its own paths of economic and social well-being, political stability and peace,” he stated during his program Con Maduro +.
The Bolivarian leader confirmed that it was the Government of the United States (USA) that failed to comply with the agreements signed between both parties. He also highlighted that “at this point” all the unilateral and illegal coercive measures imposed against the country should have been lifted, but “contrary to keeping their signed word, rather written, they revoke a license that they themselves had been responsible for murdering.” President Maduro reaffirmed that “no one controls Venezuela, Venezuela is no one’s colony.”
Regarding the referendum and the popular consultation held the day before in Ecuador, the head of state congratulated the population for their decision to reject two questions that involved “the sovereignty” of the South American nation and recalled the assault by the police of that country to the Mexican Embassy in Quito.
“Behind that there was a political calculation (what happened at the Embassy), because there was a referendum with a set of obvious questions (…), but it asked two key questions that involved the sovereignty of Ecuador, the natural resources of Ecuador, and the people of Ecuador beat up Daniel Noboa, and told him: No, Noboa,” he said, highlighting the victory of the population.
On the other hand, President Maduro reported that all diplomatic and consular personnel in Quito and Guayaquil are in Venezuela and that “our Embassy will be closed until Jorge Glas is returned to Mexico, and International Law is restored.”
“Daniel Noboa dared to assault the territory of Mexico, which is the Embassy there in Quito. He did it because he is a right-wing extremist, he did it under authorization and order from the United States of America to attack Mexico, to attack President López Obrador, have no doubt about that, because the gringos put (Javier) Milei and Noboa so that they were in charge from South America to attack President López Obrador, because they do not dare,” declared the president.
The president spoke about the decision of the U.S. House of Representatives to approve a $95 billion package for new military aid to Ukraine, Israel and allies, indicating that they do not approve “not one dollar for development,” but instead “resources for war.”
