Cuban president at inauguration of Higher Education Congress 

The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel, participated Monday in the inauguration of the XIV International Congress on Higher Education, University 2024, which will be held until Feb. 9 at the Havana Convention Palace.

The forum, organized by the Cuban Ministry of Higher Education (MES), will be attended by more than 2,000 personalities and experts from 40 countries.


The president of the National Assembly of People’s Power (Parliament) Esteban Lazo Hernández and Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz, also attended the event.

“The Congress will provide the opportunity to conclude alliances, agreements and cooperation links,” Cuban Vice Minister of Higher Education Reynaldo Velázquez recently told the press.
