The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez, received this Friday the Nicaraguan ambassador, Alejandro Solís, who is ending his mission on the island.
The foreign minister reported on his Twitter account that he thanked the diplomat for his efforts to continuously strengthen the ties of brotherhood, solidarity, and cooperation that unite both nations. He also wished him success in his new roles.
Political and diplomatic relations between Havana and Managua were reestablished in July 1979, a few days after the triumph of the Sandinista Popular Revolution.
Nicaragua supports Cuba in the fight against the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States, and opposes the inclusion of the island in the unilateral list of countries that sponsor terrorism.
