Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel received a large delegation of ministers of Culture and Tourism attending the G-77 meetings and participants of FITCuba 2023, the Presidency informed today.
The president welcomed to the Palace of the Revolution the heads of the Culture portfolio who are attending this Thursday the meeting of the Group of 77 plus China at the Convention Palace in this capital.
He also talked with presidents of hotel chains, airline executives, businessmen and suppliers participating in the International Tourism Fair of Cuba, FITCuba 2023, which concludes this day.
In the case of the meeting of the Group of 77 + China, of which the island holds the pro tempore presidency, there will be a debate on culture as a global public good, as well as mechanisms and alternatives for South-South cooperation for sustainable development.
Other moments will be devoted to the social and economic dimension of culture, as well as the role of creative economies and cultural industries in developing countries.
For its part, the closing of FITCuba 2023 will be the appropriate moment for the presentation of the next meeting in 2024 and to sum up the days of debates, information, tours and meetings with a view to the promotion and recovery of Cuban tourism.
With Havana as the venue and cultural heritage as the center of attention, the Fair reached a wide expectation on the island’s travel industry, and the performance of both local and foreign companies working in the archipelago.
