The leader of the Cuban Revolution, Army General Raúl Castro, and President Miguel Díaz-Canel received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Serguei Lavrov.
According to Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez, they discussed prioritized projects underway and perspectives for the effective participation of Russia in the Economic-Social Development Plan of Cuba until 2030.
The highest representative of Russian diplomacy was received earlier by his counterpart from this Antillean nation, who thanked him for the solidarity of his country during the confrontation with the Covid-19 pandemic, with donations of food and medical supplies.
During the meeting, Rodríguez expressed the island’s gratitude for the invariable position of the Eurasian nation in the demand for the cessation of the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba and for the removal of the Island from the spurious list of countries sponsors of terrorism.
