President of Cuba thanks congratulations on his reelection

Cuban president Miguel Díaz-Canel today thanked all the expressions of affection received after his ratification in office for the next five years.

In a message on Twitter, the president expressed his gratitude for the congratulations of colleagues, personalities, representatives of Latin American integration organizations and other people around the world for his reelection, the day before, by the newly installed Parliament.

Díaz-Canel reaffirmed that he will work to maintain the unity of the nation, convinced of the enormous challenges of the position, entrusted by the National Assembly.

The leaders of Venezuela, Bolivia, China, North Korea, Vietnam, the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America – Peoples’ Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP), among other world-renowned personalities expressed their satisfaction with the new inauguration of the Cuban president, who celebrates his 63rd birthday today.

The day before, the deputies to the Cuban Parliament reelected Miguel Díaz-Canel to hold the post of President of the Republic for the next five years, and Salvador Valdés to occupy the vice presidency.
