Cuban bartender Rihder Fuentes will be the island’s representative to the World Cocktail Championship to be held in Rome this year.
This competitor won first place in the classic style of the 19th Fabio Delgado In Memoriam National Cocktail Bar Championship.
During the final ceremony of Fabio, held in the halls of the Tulipán hotel, in Havana, bartender Joel Pons Hernández, from Matanzas city, obtained first place in the flair or free style and will represent Cuba in the Pan American Cocktail Championship to be held in the Dominican Republic.
The second seat of the competition in classic style was in the hands of the bartender José Luis. Hernández, from Camagüey, who will represent this country in the Pan American Cocktail Bar in the Dominican Republic.
As part of this weekend’s meeting, the National Assembly of the Association of Bartenders of Cuba (ACC) met, in which the general director of operations and quality of the Ministry of Tourism of Cuba (Mintur), María del Pilar Macías, called to strengthen this organization, affected by Covid-19.
At the meeting, the members of the ACC tasted the product Halcón Pelegrino, manufactured by the Nicaraguan Brewing Company, which has 4.9 degrees of alcohol, at a time when said company was approaching to enter the Cuban trade.
The award ceremony was attended by managers and representatives of the Mintur, Havana Club International S.A., Cuba Ron S.A., and La Estancia, regular sponsors of ACC cocktail competitions.
