Cuban wrestlers to compete in France

Cuban Greco-Roman wrestlers Luis Orta (67 kg) and Oscar Pino (130 kg) will travel today to France to compete in the Grand Prix tournament, to be held in Nice on January 21 and 22.

Orta—Olympic champion in Tokyo 2020—and Pino—two-time world champion—will be the only Cubans to participate in this event.

This year, Cuban wrestling will also be present in the first Ranking Series in Croatia (February 1 to 5), the Cerro Pelado-Granma International Tournament in Havana (February 15 to 20) and the ALBA Games (April), as well as in the Central American and Caribbean Games in San Salvador (June 23 to July 8) and the Pan Am Games in Santiago de Chile (October 20 to November 5).

Other major competitions will be the continental wrestling championships in Argentina (May) and the qualifiers for the multisport event in Chile, where four places will be available, in addition to the World Junior Championships in Poland (August 14 to 20), the international event for seniors in Serbia (September 16 to 24) and the U23 tournament in Finland (October 23 to 29).
