China blasts U.S. for pushing endless war in Ukraine

China has criticized the United States for its role in the war in Ukraine.  A spokesperson for China’s Foreign Ministry said: “While the United States has intensified its efforts to send weapons to one of the conflicting parties, resulting in endless wars and no end in sight for peace, it has frequently spread false information about China’s supply of weapons to Russia.”

Last week, China released a 12-point peace plan to end the war in Ukraine.  It was rejected outright by the United States and its military allies.

In related news, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko has arrived in China for a three-day state visit, while U.S. Secretary of State Tony Blinken is visiting Kazakhstan for meetings with top diplomats from Central Asian nations.

U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen also made a surprise visit to the Ukrainian capital of Kiev and announced the transfer of $1.25 billion in new economic aid to Ukraine.  During her trip, Yellen warned China that it would face “severe consequences” if it provided material support to Russia in violation of U.S.-backed sanctions.
